This coming Friday, March 15th at 7pm, Project Art is hosting a fundraiser at the Moore Building in the Design District. The event, chaired by Sarah Arison, Kyle DeWoody and Alex Gartenfeld,is a benefit and exhibition featuring the childhood work of renowned Miami artists to fund free arts education in underserved neighborhoods.
Emerson Dorsch artist Frances Trombly is one of these artists along with Michael Vasquez, Hernan Bas, Kiki Valdes and FriendsWithYou, among others.
ProjectArt is a national nonprofit that empowers youth, emerging artists, and communities. Through partnerships with public libraries, ProjectArt’s resident artists teach tuition-free after-school visual art classes to children in under-resourced areas while developing new artwork in the library.
Founded in Harlem in 2011, today Miami is one of six ProjectArt cities. Since 2016, ProjectArt has partnered with the Miami Dade Public Library System to provide hundreds of children free art classes in its 8 locations in South Florida.
