WAAM (Women Artists Archive Miami) is pleased to present two archival exhibitions that highlight the importance of examining artists’ archives and records as an extension of the artwork. Defining Space: Selections from the Karen Rifas Papers includes exhibition cards, brochures, catalogs, ephemera, maquettes, and other materials from Rifas’ work and life in the South Florida area that spans over thirty years. The selections provide an insight both into the artist’s prolific experimentation with materiality and process, but also offers a vital glimpser into the early art activity of Miami’s private and public art institutions.
Due to COVID-19, we are open by appointment. The gallery will follow social distancing protocol and allow only a certain number of visitors per appointment.
