Miami to Maine: Movement Activation by Dale Andree

Friday, April 4, 7-9PM, Performance begins at 7:30PM

Join us on Friday, April 4th, at 7 p.m. for the final event at Emerson Dorsch Gallery: Miami to Maine, a movement activation created by Dale Andree in collaboration with dancers Sun Young Park and Mary Spring. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m.

This special performance is inspired by Karen Rifas’s phenomenal exhibition, Miami to Maine. It will celebrate her decades-long contribution to the arts and heartfeltly send off over 33+ years of groundbreaking, thoughtful programming at Emerson Dorsch.

Together, we’ll reflect on the lifeblood of what EDG has meant to this city: a place where artists are nurtured, ideas take form, and community is built through creativity.

The performance asks:
What is geometry’s relationship to space?
Every space has a story—does geometry create that story or reveal it?

In Miami to Maine, prismatic and pixelated abstraction reflects the frenetic energy of Miami, a place where there’s no time for vistas—only essences. This activation responds through movement, presence, and sound.

Sound Accompaniment
Maine Room: Mute by Loscil
Miami Room: Das saD – always feels like yesterday by Daniel Clapp

Let’s gather one last time to honor Karen, our artists, and the community that made EDG what it is.
