This year marks Emerson Dorsch Gallery’s 30th anniversary. It has been an astounding year with many changes and accomplishments. It’s a good occasion to articulate that at the gallery’s core is the spirit of our founder, Brook Dorsch, who started the space to share and enjoy experimental and thought-provoking art with artists and the community. At that time, he was invested in Miami’s punk rock scene, and he brought that ethos and energy to his approach to curating art, bringing people together, and making opportunities. Along with the burgeoning Miami art scene, he learned as he went. The gallery has grown immensely due to the contributions of the artists we’ve worked with, many of whom have shown their work with us and also helped bring the shows together. We’ve learned from our clients, who have supported our belief in complex, meaningful art. This is a great journey; what a thrill to share it with so many amazing, creative people.
As we enter our fourth decade, we are focused on providing a strong rubric for our artists and our clients. It is with this vessel that we can support great art.
